Investing in Your Own Style

There’s nothing worse than showing up to a party only to realize you're one of two people wearing the same dress. Unfortunately, if you shop at all the cheap discount fashion stores, it’s going to happen quite often.

If you want your own style, you’re going to have to think of a couple of ways around ending up with the same things that everyone else is wearing.

Designer Clothes Are More Unique

Designer Clothes

Women’s designer clothes are more expensive and the production is more limited, so you won’t be seeing as many of them on the shelves or on other women. If you want a unique look that no one else has, your best bet is to buy designer.

Designer clothes are also a great buy because they are better quality, which means that they're going to last longer. And even if they’re similar to a knock-off sold at a discount fashion store, the difference will be easy to see. If you play it smart and purchase a classic style, you can get a lot of use out of your designer outfit. Mix it up with trending accessories and jewelry and you'll always be in style.

Shop for Clothes Online

Online Shopping

When you shop for clothes online, you have access to a range of stores and clothing options, even women’s designer clothes that aren’t available in your area. You can shop local for basics, but for a party, special event or anything to go out in, you can find unique clothes online.

Usually these will take 1-3 weeks to ship to you so make sure you don’t try to purchase anything the day before your event. You want to be able to try on your selection ahead of time and make any exchanges or alterations with time to spare. It’s also important to know your size and your measurements before you go shopping online.

Buy Classic Pieces

Audrey Hepburn Style

The best way to stand out is to develop your own unique style. While that doesn’t mean dressing like Lady Gaga (unless you want to), it does mean buying items of clothing that you will love for years to come. For example, Audrey Hepburn, one of the most timeless fashion classics, had absolutely nothing to do with trendy fashion. She wore simple lines and colors and made striped sweaters her trademark.

On the other hand more recent style icons can be seen rocking boots, colored skinny jeans and baggy tops, so choose whatever you like and whatever you think will look good on you. However, make sure that you feel both comfortable and confidant in your choices. That goes a long way in establishing your personal style.

You don’t have to choose something because it’s popular, looks good on a celebrity or even because you think it looks simple. You can wear patterns, the color purple or anything else you like. Just make sure you love it, that you look good in it and that you won’t regret the pictures looking back in the mirror in ten years.

Little Black Dress

Classic pieces include the little black dress, sweaters, a great pair of jeans, pencil skirts, good quality shoes and more. If you’re buying designer clothing, make sure you absolutely love it before you buy. Your style is your own so look for something you love. For quality pieces that will last for years, try high quality women’s designer clothes.
